United Women in Faith – September News
Friday, Feb 9th – Seventy (70) PB&J Lunches were made and delivered to the Open Door Mission. It takes about 4 large (40oz) peanut butter jars, 7-8 16oz jelly jars and 14 loaves of bread to make 140 sandwiches that go into decorated bags. We include a juice box or small water, a chip snack, and a granola bar.
The rest of the ladies decorate the lunch bags with encouraging words, stickers, and art work. Then it’s time to fill the decorated bags with all those goodies and deliver them to the Open Door Mission building on North Plymouth.
Thirteen ladies enjoyed a potluck picnic on Monday, Aug 19th. Rose Chambers was our entertaining auctioneer and raised $137.25 for the UWF Legacy Fund. Kathy Krisher spoke about her volunteer experience at Saints Place who welcomes refugees into our community.
We blessed over 20 backpacks and almost 2 big boxes of school supplies (36 folders, 25 spiral notebooks, 10 scissors, 25 packages of colored pencils,,…and so much more!). Thanks to all who gave these simple but essential tools of learning. We know that Saints Place will put them to good use.
