September News
![]() | We gathered at Kathy Krisher’s wonderfully cool home for this year’s Potluck Picnic and Auction on Monday, August 11th. We had 13 ladies and raised over $200 for the UWF Legacy Fund. Delicious food was shared and much laughter could be heard during the auction. Our auctioneer was Rose Chambers. She did a fantastic job. We were able to bless approximately 20 backpacks and numerous school supplies that were collected in July for Saints Place. Thank you to both Kathy and Rose for making this UWF event fun and memorable. |
Rummage Sale – Saturday September 13th
Time to gear up for the Rummage Sale. Sale Date is Saturday, September 13th 8am – 3pm with the $3 Bag Sale starting at 1pm. Your donations are what make this sale possible and all of its proceeds goes to mission work! Volunteer sign up sheets are posted on the bulletin board. Please sign up to help in one or more of the areas that appeals to you:
- Donation Drop Off Dates: Monday – Thursday 9/8 – 9/11 10-12noon and 6pm-8pm – Volunteers will receive your donations and get them distributed to the appropriate places in the hall. If you have time during your drop off to put your own things out, that would be greatly appreciated, but not required. If you cannot make the published times, please let Lori McComb know and arrangements can be made. Anytime the church is open, you can put your items in Adams Hall (Mon-Thurs only, of course).
- Pricing Night – Friday, 9/12 6pm – until done (approx. 9pm) – Dinner is provided 6pm-7pm. Pricing will start at 7pm until done. Brief “pricing” training is provided and we price to SELL, SELL, SELL!
- Day of Sale – Sat, 9/13 7:30am – 5pm – The actual sale runs from 8am – 3pm. From 3pm-5pm we’ll pack and clean up half of Adams Hall to allow for coffee hour on Sunday. Volunteer positions needed during the sale are a cashier, a couple of baggers and a floater each hour. And then of course, some volunteers willing to pack up at the end of the day.
- Final Clean up and Transportation of left overs to local charities happens on Monday, 9/15 10am-12noon. You can volunteer to pack / clean Adams Hall and/or transport leftover items or both. This is where many hands really do make light work!
Thank you for your donations and your time! You are an incredible congregation!
