Keep Calm & Carry On
Every generation faces unprecedented times.
How could the alternative be so? We’ve never encountered this moment before! Every moment is the first and only time we will experience it. No one arrives at it sooner than another person; we are always all beginners in the present moment. This can be a great consolation-a soothing comfort to know we are not alone when we feel helpless or overwhelmed with not knowing what to do.
We can find helpful practices in these times of turbulence-especially when we look to the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. While he knew that his mindset of radical compassion would eventually lead to his death, he carried on and relaxed back into calmness when moments of crisis arose.
While walking the Lenten Lands together, may we practice awareness: sensing how the moments of Jesus’ compassionate response can be incorporated into our own daily practices.
lenten worship series: keep calm & carry on
Sundays, March 9 – April 20
From descending the mountain following his transfiguration to his arrest, trial, and execution, Jesus shows us how to carry on in life while the reversals it contains may shake our ability to remain calm. This Lenten series will encourage us to live faithfully and with resolve as we reflect the character of Christ in our daily lives. Join us each Sunday in Lent to meditate upon the precepts of calm perseverance.
